Dads are our heroes. They help us stay grounded even when all is crashing down around us.
Today, being one of the days in the month set aside to celebrate their awesomeness, we highlight five characters of the dads in our community that we love and pray our children too will emulate.
For three years now, Joachim Adenusi has pioneered a school renovation fundraising campaign known as CYCLING4IMPACTWITHSACTS to help us renovate low-income schools. And he does that by cycling extended miles and getting other people to donate to the cause.
His continued support helps us restore learning spaces and hope for the children. We are truly inspired.
Another dad character we love is resilience. During our recently concluded cycling4impact campaign, the same Joachim Adenusi suffered some falls while prepping to cycle for the cause. Yet, he wasn’t deterred.
As soon as he got back on his feet, Joachim hit the tracks and cycled a whole 100 miles in Sussex London for the fundraising effort.
If intentionality was a person, it would be Aruosa Osemwegie, our founding partner.
For him, beneficiary tuition payment takes the front-row seat while other things within the sponsorship sphere can follow.
No matter how stretched thin the organization is, he will ensure that the beneficiaries are sorted. His intentionality has helped us to push past many limitations and we are so grateful for the gift of him.
Biyi Ogundepo is one of our management partners and during one of our meetings, we got a rare glimpse of how selfless he is.
It had been his birthday month and one of his friends had reached out to send him his birthday gift but he(Biyi Ogundepo) asked the well-wisher to send the gift to the organization’s outreach account instead. Such selflessness!
Lastly, we have Mr. Gabriels, the principal at one of the low-income schools we serve.
Even when Mr. Gabriel’s school’s roof collapsed and his classroom got flooded, he never got weary of his mission to see that children in underserved communities also get quality education.
He stayed positive and we are glad that we could help his school through your donations in the last cycling4impact fundraising campaign.
To all awesome dads! May we know them. May we be them. May we sponsor their education! Happy Father’s Day!
