About Sponsor A Child Through School

How we started

Sponsor a Child through School began as a burden to ensure children (orphans and the less privileged) are given a lasting opportunity at life. A group of us, then colleagues, had started an orphanage visitation initiative, where we visited orphanages, about twice a year and provided them with food items, toiletries, household equipment, etc. This we still do, however, it soon dawned on us that we needed more lasting impact. Granting these children access to quality education is an opportunity to level out the disadvantage they may have had through birth circumstances.

With our population made up mainly of children and youths it is inhuman, and unwise/dangerous to leave education, enlightenment and empowerment to the government alone. Aiding more people to access quality education would ensure we have quality talent in the future thereby preserving our nation. It would also help us reduce youth restiveness, unemployment and crime. Sponsor a Child through School is our attempt to do something instead of just agonizing over the problem.

We started amongst friends around 2007 with one child from Love Home Orphanage and currently have about 54+ children under sponsorship from three orphanages spread around Lagos. Our children are currently from Love Home orphanage, Magodo-Lagos; Precious pearls orphanage, Akute-Ogun and Compassionate orphanage, Idimu, Lagos. Apart from the Sponsorship of Orphans and the less privileged children education, we also hold career talks with the children/teens in their respective Orphanage homes from time to time inorder to build them for career demands outside of the protective walls of the Homes.

We do carry out community works like the rehabilitation of poor schools, equippimg of poor schools libraries and provisions of school materials like books, shoes, writing materials and furniture.

Sacts plan is to extend our outreach to public schools not just in lagos but all around Nigeria.

We envision a world where all children
no matter their background have
access to quality education
