Happiness and gratitude (and of course, the anticipation of chicken and jollof rice) are what children feel at the mention of Christmas.
Not that we can blame them. We were all once there and can imagine how it feels to miss out on the “experience” of Christmas.
The children in our community also have these feelings but the truth is that they are poor.
They are part of the 54% facing at least three deprivations across seven dimensions of child rights including nutrition, healthcare, education, water, sanitation, adequate housing, and information.
They also fall within the 24.56% of children below the poverty line- a threshold described by UNICEF as any household that spends less than $1.90 daily.
Without timely intervention, gratitude, and happiness, the two predominant feelings of Christmas, are the last things these children will feel.
In an effort to alleviate his issue, our foundation, Sponsor A Child Through School, started a one-month-long Christmas Drive 2022 on the tenth of November to provide relief to these children.
The drive ends on the 10th of December and while we understand that it’s a short time window, we will only implore you to bear with us.
We are calling on you, and many kind-hearted people like you to help bring the magic of Christmas to these underserved and orphaned children by donating toys, cash, or food items.
Here is what we have always said: no act of kindness is too little. None at all.
Your free will donations are welcome. Donate today or reach out to us on WhatsApp: 08096752310 or via our email: admin@sactsng.org for clarifications on how you can send your physical gifts in.
Thank you.
